• For lifelong friends Rob Portmann, Kurt Svennungsen and Norb Caoili, Frayed represents their first feature film collaboration - a childhood dream they have shared since their elementary school days of shooting action, comedy and horror shorts
• It took three years to develop and write the script • Shot in 22 days in Washington State • Entirely local cast and crew • Shot in HD with the Sony F900 CineAlta HD camera system with the Pro35 lens adapter and Zeiss prime lenses to achieve better depth of field and cinematic look • All location sound digitally recorded on a laptop - 8 tracks at 24bit, 96kHz • More than 32 hours of HD raw footage • Over 30 hours of behind the scenes documentary footage • More than a year was spent in post-production • Post-production done entirely by the two-person team of Quantum Productions: Norbert Caoili and Mike Lorrain • Edited, scored and sound mixed entirely by Norbert Caoili in his home-studio • The score was composed by Caoili in a little over two weeks • Nearly 100 visual effects shots were created by Mike Lorrain • Video post-production tools: Final Cut Studio HD, 3D-Studio Max, Adobe After Effects • Music & sound post-production tools: Pro-Tools HD, Digital Performer, Gigastudio, Garritan Personal Orchestra, Sonic Implants Symphonic Collection, Voices of the Apocalypse, Soundtrack Pro, Roland 2080/1080/R-70 synth gear |
